The immersion blender controls the final texture. Stop once the mixture is even in colour: blend longer and the cooked oat flakes break down further, producing a finer, more uniform consistency. Keep going past that point and the flakes surrender their last evidence of having existed, processed into compliance. A firm whisk works when distinct flakes and a little chew are preferable to a fully smooth bowl.
BreakfastChocolate Peanut Butter Silken Tofu Porridge
Cocoa and peanut butter give this oat porridge a dark, nutty depth, while silken tofu makes the texture notably smooth. It stays warm and spoonable rather than setting like mousse.
Ingredients
Preparation Steps
Cook the oats
Place the Rolled oats whole grain and Unsweetened soy milk in a small saucepan over medium heat. When small bubbles appear, reduce to low heat and stir often for 5 to 6 minutes, until the oats are tender and the porridge coats the spoon.
Blend until smooth
Remove the pan from the heat and let the porridge stand for 2 minutes. Add the Silken tofu, Cocoa Powder, and Peanut Butter, then blend with an immersion blender until glossy and free of tofu streaks. Divide between bowls and serve warm.

A vegan breakfast with a solid amount of protein, without relying on protein powder. Silken tofu and peanut butter provide it through ordinary ingredients, so breakfast doesn’t become a scoop-and-stir exercise.
