Who is responsible for your data?

Feast on the Planet operates this website. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].

What we collect

  • Newsletter: your email address, subscription date and unsubscribe status.
  • Accounts: your name, email address, authentication and account security information.
  • Optional nutrition profile: information you choose to enter, such as age, height, weight, biological sex and activity level, to calculate personalised nutrition targets.
  • Community activity: recipes you save, comments and ratings you submit.
  • Analytics: page, device, browser and approximate location information collected by Google Analytics only after you accept analytics cookies.
  • Technical security data: limited request and diagnostic information needed to operate and protect the website.

Why we use it

  • To provide accounts, saved recipes, comments, ratings and personalised nutrition features you request.
  • To send the weekly newsletter when you subscribe.
  • To keep the service secure and diagnose technical problems.
  • To understand site usage through optional analytics and improve the content.

We rely on your consent for the newsletter, optional nutrition profile data and Google Analytics. We use contract or steps requested by you to provide account features, and legitimate interests or legal obligations where necessary to secure and operate the service.

Newsletter

We use your newsletter address only to send the newsletter and related subscription messages. You can withdraw your consent at any time through the unsubscribe link in an email or our newsletter settings page.

Cookies and Google Analytics

Essential cookies or local storage may be used for authentication, security and remembering your privacy choice. These are necessary for the feature you request.

Google Analytics is optional. Its tag is not loaded and its analytics cookies are not created unless you select Accept analytics. Advertising storage and ad personalisation remain disabled. You can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics events and removes Feast on the Planet analytics cookies from your browser.

Service providers and international transfers

We use hosting, email delivery, security and infrastructure providers to run the website. Cloudflare helps deliver and protect the site. Google provides optional Analytics and Google sign-in. These providers process only the information needed for their services and may process data outside your country using the safeguards they describe in their privacy documentation.

How long we keep data

  • Newsletter data is kept while you are subscribed. After unsubscribe, a limited record may be retained to honour your choice and demonstrate compliance.
  • Account and optional profile data is kept while the account is active, subject to legal, security and backup retention needs.
  • Consent choices are stored for up to six months before we ask again.
  • Technical and analytics data follows the limited retention settings of the relevant service.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive your personal data, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority.
